User Research and Design – This House
Use case:
I spent some time thinking about a constant struggle that I have with organization and remembering where things are in the house. I came up with an idea for a product and went through the UX process to figure out if I had a viable product.
Role:
User Experience Researcher and UX Designer
Technologies:
Illustrator and Axure
Outcome:
I started the process to figure out if I had a viable product to help people organize and remember what’s in their house along with things like what size of air filters their house uses. I quickly realized there was not much of a market for this and had to pivot my idea to a more narrow scope. What’s in their closet, their style of clothing, and when they can find deals.
User Experience – National Instruments POC
Use case:
National Instruments was in the process of rolling out a badging program and they needed someone with a vision for how the pages would function, the layout of the pages, and someone who could quickly test and learn from real-world users.
Role:
User Experience Designer
Technologies:
3D Studio Max, Unity, Vuforia
Outcome:
Worked collaboratively with internal stakeholders and our 3rd party vendors to create, test, and document design interactions and mock-ups. Starting with rough sketch ideas, paper prototyping, high-fidelity mock-ups, and eventually handing off our prototypes to the 3rd party developers to build our prototypes for production. Storyline UI Improvements
Use case:
National Instruments launched a new training program and wanted a more modern look and feel to their content.
Role:
User Experience Designer
Technologies:
After Effects, Storyline, Powerpoint, Photoshop, Illustrator
Outcome:
Started with the original design and the vendor design. I did some research on company branding, got input from users, and iterated design ideas. In the end I was able to provide a final, exciting, and modern UI for Articulate Storyline courses.
